On June 11, 2026, during a working meeting within the framework of European veterinary events, Julien Le Tual (SNVEL, France) presented practical experience in implementing a single digital platform for the work of a professional veterinary organization. A problem faced by almost all organizations.
The meeting participants drew attention to a common problem that most professional associations face: information fragmentation. Organization members receive messages through various channels - e-mail, WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, shared drives and meeting minutes. As a result, it is difficult to understand where the current version of the document is, what was decided at the last meeting and where to look for the necessary information. Over time, this leads to loss of time, duplication of work and gradual weakening of "organizational memory". Even useful tools (mail, instant messengers, cloud drives) in the absence of a single system begin to work against each other. The solution is a single «community workplace». To solve this problem, a special digital platform called the "community workplace" was developed and implemented - a single workspace for the entire organization. The platform has been actively used since the end of 2025 and has shown its effectiveness in practice.

The main idea is to translate disparate communication into a structured digital space, where information, documents and workflows are collected in one place and accessible to everyone who needs them.
What does such a platform provide in practice. The platform has several important features:
Targeted communication. Instead of sending the same information to everyone, the platform allows you to create separate "spaces" for different groups - regional committees, commissions, boards or working groups. Each space has its own access rights and work logic, which prevents mixing of topics and allows you to send important messages to exactly those to whom they are addressed.
Collaborate on documents. Instead of emailing different versions of files and getting confused about which revision is the most current, members of an organization can create, edit, and comment on documents directly in the appropriate space. This transforms the process from a simple “file transfer” to true collaboration.
Meeting and task management. The platform allows you to link online meetings to specific workspaces, prepare agendas, capture decisions, and track task completion. This way, a meeting stops being an isolated event and becomes part of a continuous workflow.
Organizational knowledge preservation. Instead of important information “dissolving” in personal inboxes and chats, the platform creates a structured knowledge base. Documents, protocols, legal clarifications and other materials remain tied to relevant topics and accessible to those who need them.
Improved visibility of services for members. Many organizations provide their members with various types of support (legal, consulting, informational), but members are often unaware of these opportunities or do not understand how to use them. A single platform allows for making such services more visible and accessible.
The problem of information fragmentation and loss of organizational memory is relevant not only for European associations, but also for Ukrainian public associations and professional organizations. Many of us face scattered chats, numerous emails, and difficulties in finding relevant documents every day.
The experience of implementing a single digital workspace shows that such solutions really improve work efficiency, reduce time loss and help preserve knowledge within the organization. For the NGO "Union of Veterinary Owners", which is actively developing its activities and communication with members, such an approach can be useful in further improving internal processes and work with the veterinary community.

On June 11, 2026, during the UEVP General Assembly in Rovaniemi, two practical tools were presented, aimed at improving communication between European veterinarians and addressing human resource issues in the farm animal sector. Official UEVP mobile app
During the meeting, UEVP Treasurer Giovanbattista Guadagnini and Vice President Ann Criel drew the participants' attention to the need to actively use the official UEVP mobile app. The app allows for prompt notifications of infectious disease outbreaks in Europe, which allows for a faster response than through traditional government information channels.
Over the past year, 160 materials on veterinary medicine, animal welfare, public health and work with small pets were published on the platform. Various European associations, including UBA and Animal Health Europe, participate in the preparation of content.
Participants were encouraged not only to use the application themselves, but also to actively share it with their fellow veterinarians. Currently, the main content is available in English, but the possibility of translating materials is provided.
A new Summer School project for livestock sector professionals.
A new educational project was also presented - Summer School, which will start in July 2026 in Italy. The project was initiated by the Veterinary Chamber of Brussia with the support of UAB. The program was created to solve the problem of the shortage of young specialists in the farm animal sector.

Most veterinary students today come from urban backgrounds and have limited experience working with large animals. University programs are often more focused on small domestic animals, creating a shortage of professionals capable of working with herd health, biosecurity, animal welfare, and farm management.
The Summer School program is designed for a week of intensive training with an emphasis on practical components. Topics that will be covered include:
A significant part of the program will be farm visits. The location was chosen in a region with a high density of farm animals, which allows for high-quality practical training. The project is financed by a special fund that traditionally supports educational initiatives in veterinary medicine and agriculture.
Prompt receipt of information about disease outbreaks through a professional European channel is a tool that increases the speed of response of the veterinary community. Active use of such an application can also be useful in Ukrainian conditions. Regarding the Summer School - this project demonstrates a European approach to solving the staffing problem in the livestock sector through intensive practical programs. In Ukraine, there is also a need for high-quality practical training for veterinarians working with farm animals. The experience of creating such initiatives can be useful in developing similar programs in Ukraine.
The PO "Society of Veterinary Business Owners" continues to monitor European practices and tools that may be relevant for Ukrainian veterinarians.
